| Description | It looks like the grandmother/mother-in-law is either consoling or ask the wife of the dead officer to control herself. They have obviously just received the death message of the husband. A soldier is committing seppuku suicide in the round inset. Eisen TOMIOKA was a very popular illustrator. It was said that the magazines with kuchi-e by Eisen were sold much better than the ones without Eisen's kuchi-e. |
